Fix My Write provides editing services for independent publishers and authors. We take pride in assisting authors in presenting their masterpieces to the world! We walk you step-by-step through the editorial process to ensure that your finished manuscript is flawless. Packages include regular consultations with the editor (in-person or via videoconference) for a personalized experience.
Please take into consideration that the editing process involves much more than skimming over your document/manuscript. We offer two levels of editing, explained in detail below. The best way to manage costs for editing is to present as clean a copy (few errors) as possible. The longer that it takes for an editor to figure out what you are trying to say in your writing before they can even begin to make corrections, the more it will cost you! It’s only fair!
A few things to note:
- We use The Chicago Manual of Style (latest edition), the AP Stylebook when applicable, and the Merriam-Webster dictionary as reference materials as we edit your work. These tools are used per industry standards.
- We use Microsoft Word track changes to make life easier on everyone. We do NOT re-write your document. You are ultimately responsible for what ends up on your pages (unless you are utilizing Fix My Write to ghostwrite for you).
Fix My Write/Get it Right Package (or Developmental Editing, I just felt like rhyming 🙂 ):
We stand by our work here at Fix My Write, and we understand that you may be on a budget. However, we also know that a genuinely polished book will require multiple rounds of editing. To quote Ernest Hemingway, “The first draft of everything is SH*T!”. Remember, we writers may not always manage to put on the page what we have already “written in our heads”.
This package includes TWO rounds of editing that will focus on developing your manuscript (strengthening the mechanics and clarifying the content). Includes:
Round 1- Review your manuscript and advise recommendations on the following:
- Plot flow
Round 2 – a 2nd editor will conduct a line edit. A great book is crafted by not only the author’s brilliant ideas, but with concise, tight, writing that flows from beginning to end. Line editing ensures that the structure and flow of each phrase, sentence and paragraph are synergetic and make sense to your reader. It also includes grammar, spelling, punctuation and typo correction.(:
- Mechanics (sentence structure, etc.)
Cost: $299 for the 1st 10,000 words

This package is recommended for brand new authors. If you have never written a book before, but have a great idea for a project, investing in your dream is the best decision that you can make. Includes:
